There is so much to discover and experience around picturesque Purbeck; gateway to the Jurassic Coast, England’s first World Heritage Site. Take a trip on a the Swanage steam train to historical Corfe Castle only a 5 minute walk to … Herston Halt station, enjoy walks along the spectacular coastline and National Trust countryside and why not try out some bird watching, fishing, watersports or even sandcastle building…… all within three miles of our Camping & Caravanning site. Further afield are Monkey World, the Tank Museum, Weymouth - home to the 2012 Olympic Sailing Academy, Poole Harbour and the bright lights of Bournemouth. You can abandon the car for the entire holiday if you wish since the park is a mere mile and a half from the bustling Seaside town centre of Swanage where many interesting events are held including the Folk Festival and the Jazz Festival. It is even less than that to the sandy blue flag family beaches. If you’re bringing your caravan or motorhome to Dorset, drop in at Herston. We’re located within easy reach of Swanage, the Jurassic Coast and the vibrant towns of Poole & Bournemouth. Pitches are level, well-equipped and excellent value while the award-winning facilities here are wide-ranging and exceptionally high quality. Wherever you’re travelling, make Herston your base for a while. Herston Camp Site is ideally situated near the picturesque town of Swanage, at the gateway to the Jurassic Coast. You’ll find loads to do on-site and within walking distance and when you venture out, you’re spoilt for choice: Studland and Old Harry Rocks to the east, Weymouth a short journey west and there’s easy access to the rolling Dorset countryside to the North. We have camping pitches for all types of tents and all types of camper. Every pitch offers level ground, clean shower/toilet areas and unlimited use of our leisure facilities. Choose from three fields: Sea View Field is close to all facilities and is recommended for families. First Field is equipped with electrical hook up points and water points and is closest to the facilities.
